The method involves using a Digital Micro-mirror Device projector, having a DMD chip (CH). Light is led from a light source through one revolving colour wheel (FDS) onto the micro-mirrors of the DMD - chip. The colour wheel has colour filters (FF) consisting of individual colour sectors of red (R), green (G) and blue (B), and revolves at a multiple speed w.r.t. the line frequency. The light is reflected from the DMD - chip (CH) onto respective image points of the blow-up screen (GBPF) in a respectively required mixture of colours, produced by individually controlling the micro-mirrors of the DMD chip. The light is also guided through a light polarising wheel (LPDS), which has sections with two different polarization directions, and which revolves at a speed at least twice of that of the revolving colour wheel. By individual control of the micro-mirrors of the DMD chip, two images of different polarisation are superimposed onto the projection screen. The polarisation directions are pref. orthogonal w.r.t. each other.
