Level and volume of fuel sensor for storage tank

The sensor comprises a measuring element (5) and a compensating element (6) set into the cover (4) of an opening (3) respond to the hydrostatic pressures at the levels of tube mouths (18,19) near and relatively far from the floor of the tank (1). The sensing elements (9,10) in their gastight housings (7,8) are wired to a processing unit (11) linked (12) to a computer (13) with a video display monitor (14). The compensating element detects the influence of temperature on the density of the fuel (2). This is taken into account in computation of the volume from the level deduced from the pressure measurements.
