Lubrication system for work machine e.g. mining truck, front shovel, and hydraulic excavator

The lubricating system has a timer, with a lubricating distribution system. A lubricating mode is determined and a lubrication mode signal is produced in response. A charging system drives the lubricant distribution system. A charging system parameter is sensed which is indicative of the operating state of the charging system. The timer calculates a time interval which is dependent on the previous lubricating event. A lubrication signal is produced in response to the time interval being greater than or equal to a predetermined interval constant and the charging system parameter being greater than or equal to a predetermined level. A second lubrication signal is produced in response to the charging parameter being greater than or equal to a predetermined level and the lubrication mode signal being greater than a certain value. The lubricant distribution system is activated in response to the two lubrication signals.
