The appts. transmits target values or target value cycles for the current, from a central terminal (ZS) to a mobile device (MS) via a wireless bidirectional transmission path esp. a radio channel. A current measuring clamp (SZ) provides a contact-free detection of the actual value or actual value cycle of the current. The current values are monitored for correspondence with the target values, and the test results are sent to the central terminal via the transmission path. A bar code reader (B) may be integrated in the mobile device (MS) to identify marked products. The mobile device may be connected to the product via an interface (ST). Actual values of further product analysis e.g. exhaust values or values from the motor control electronics may be tested in the mobile device.
