In order to renovate a wooden-joist floor, preferably in old buildings, the invention provides, for reinforcing the wooden joists without making structural interventions and for the flexible support of a new floor, that, after removing the floor members between and above the wooden joists, downwardly open, U-shaped steel profiles (4) are pushed in a constraint-free manner onto said wooden joists, preferably with the interposition of a flexible insulating layer, and a renovated floor (11) is supported on said steel profiles and, as appropriate, a floor insulation (15, 16, 17) is supported therebetween.
