The invention relates to coating compositions based on renewable raw materials, where these coating compositions comprise a combination of epoxidation products of esters of unsaturated fatty acids having a chain length of from C8 to C22 with divalent aliphatic alcohols containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, these epoxidation products containing on average more than one epoxide group per molecule, and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids with polyether polyols, which esters contain at least two free carboxyl groups per molecule and contain a double bond in the alpha , beta -position to the free carboxyl groups, and a hydrophobicising agent.
