In a particularly advantageous process for isolating m-dichlorobenzene from isomeric dichlorobenzene mixtures by crystallisation as eutectic crystals with an auxiliary, the auxiliary employed is a compound of the formula (I) IMAGE in which R1 to R6 independently of one another represent hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, hydroxyl, NH2 or R-CO- where R = C1-C4-alkyl, 1-bromo-4-chlorobenzene and 1,4-dibromobenzene being excluded.
