The present invention relates to a method for analysis of the cutaneous relief, using profile measurement and roughness measurement 2D, 3D and image analysis. The object of the invention is to provide a method by means of which it is possible to define, with precision, the cutaneous relief of certain areas of the human body, particularly in the case of abnormality or variation thereof, which method does not require any complementary clinical or paraclinical examinations and permits a diagnosis to be established on the efficacy of a cosmetic treatment to be evaluated. This object is achieved by means of a non-invasive method, characterised in that it consists in taking an impression of the cutaneous relief in a chosen zone, studying the latter by profile measurement, roughness measurement and image analysis, processing the information obtained, and determining the parameters which define the condition of the cutaneous relief in the said chosen zone.
