Chewing gum is transferred at high speed to trays during manufacture, prior to maturation. The trays (2) are fed from a store (1) to the filling station (4) where they receive sheets of chewing gum (7). The trays are inclined by a transporter/tipper where they receive gum. They are then removed individually by a conveyor (5) towards an emptying station (6). Sheets of chewing gum arrive from a feed conveyor (8), separated from each other by a gap (d).
