Syringe (1) comprises a body (2) with an internal housing, a detachable needle (4) at its distal end (3), a piston which is slidably mounted with the housing and a sleeve (20) mounted with the body, the sleeve being slidable between a position in which it extends across the body and an active position in which it surrounds the needle.
