The generator has a support (22) to be positioned in relation to the structure, striker (26), held at the support, operated by remote control, mechanism to operate the striker having a coil fixed to the support (22) with a ferromagnetic core piston with the striker (26), for axial movement within the coil, power supply linked through an operating switch to a power store for charging it and selective switch to releases the stored charge to the coil, which moves the striker (26) against the structure (12), with return spring between the striker (26) and support (22). The power store is a capacitor of 3000-30000 microfarads, pref. 5000 microfarads. The switch is a thyristor, remotely controlled to charge the power store and activate the selection switch. The end surface of the striker (26), striking against the structure, has a force monitor (42) to register the beating force. The appts. has a movement monitor (44) against the structure, at a metering unit (46). The two monitors (44,46) are linked to a signal processing system. The striker (14) and monitor (18) units can be on the same support (22). A filter screens out parasitic waves through the structure, as an elastic filter with distortion between the movement monitor (44) and the surface, absorbing parasitic waves.
