Process for obtaining polyamidoamine-epichlorohydrin resins containing 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol which can not be detected by ordinary means of vapor phase chromatography. It is possible to pass the products resulting from the condensation of polyamidoamines. and epichlorohydrin successively on two columns of activated carbon. Thus, aqueous resins without toxic products, particularly preferred as wet strength additives in the manufacture of medical, cosmetic or food contact paper.
