The water cooling installation has a water storage reservoir (1) connected to a refrigeration system, to a supply circuit for water at a temperature T2 and to the equipment that must be supplied with water at a low temperature T0. The reservoir is fitted with a mixer that mixes incoming water at temperature T2 with the cold water at temperature T0 so the refrigeration unit receives water at a reduced temperature T1. The mixing is performed by a tube (5) passing through the reservoir. The tube has passages to deliver some of the incoming water to the top of the reservoir and to receive some of the cold water at the bottom of the reservoir.
