The stability control apparatus has on the mast (1) a horizontal support (5) which can be locked with one of its ends (6). A force applying device (9) acts on the other end (7) of the support by exerting pressure against the ground (3).The support has a frame (8) which presses against the mast. The pressure part (9) can be extended at an angle to the support, and this part may be an hydraulic, or pneumatic jack. The whole device can be mounted on a wheeled chassis for ease of movement
