Bifocal optomechanical head for laser welding and cutting

The laser welder or cutter has two focal points on the surface of the material being processed, forming two fusion lines so close to each other they merge into a wider region. The laser beam is focused by a parabolic mirror divided into two parts or by a lens divided into two parts. The two parts of the mirror or lens are independently adjustable relative to each other, both in position and orientation, to alter the relative position or depth of the two focal points. A mechanism is provided to alter the position of each part of the lens or mirror.
