Stirling engine with kinematic link between pistons and drive shaft for motor vehicle or engine driven generator

The engine has two cylinders (1,8) one above the other which contain a driving piston (2) and a compression piston (9) respectively, and are interconnected by a gas reheater (13), a heat recovery device (14) and a cooler (15). The upper piston rod (3) slides within the lower (10) and they carry at their ends pairs of rollers (11,12) engaging in two grooved cams (4,5) which rotate in opposite directions on the shaft (6). One cam (4) ensures that the pistons rise. The other cam (5) with the cooperation of a bevel gear (7) ensures that they fall.
