PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely form the thin portion with an excellent tear property of a skin material, when slash-molded, in a portion corresponding to the unfolding portion of an air bag. ;SOLUTION: A slash molding die, which is provided with a heating pipe 1 on the back so that resin powder can be deposited on the surface 2a of a die mainbody 2 heated via the pipe 1 or with an oven heated upto a preset temperature, melted and hardened to mold a skin material 3 for an air bag built-in instrument panel, has a recess 4 formed in the die mainbody 2 corresponding to the unfolding portion of an air bag to be recessed from the back to the surface. An area 2A where the recess 4 is formed is thinner than its peripheral area 2B, so that the skin material 3 for the instrument panel which is formed locally thinner corresponding to the unfolding portion of the air bag with the deviation of heat capacity can be formed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
