PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the detection of multiple lines of hot melt at a favorable precision by a simple constitution, and in addition, reduce the cost by providing a detection area setting unit which arranges a detection area for the detection of the hot melt in respective lines, in a manner to be shifted from the carrying direction of a work. ;SOLUTION: A work W under a state wherein two lines of hot melt H21, H22 are adhered, is carried by a conveyor 27. In this case, at a detection area A22 where the work reaches first, out of detection areas A21, A22, the hot melt H22 is detected, and at the detection area A21 which has an interval L to the detection area A22, the hot melt H21 is detected. A light receptor element 21 receives the radiation waves of the hot melt H21, H22 at respective detection areas A21, A22 by respectively different timings. By this method, the respective lines of the hot melt H21, H22 can be independently detected, and an absence on a line of the hot melt H21, H22 can be easily detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
