PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cultivating seeds of a plant belonging to Stevia rabaudiana Berton. whose leaves contain rabaudioside A at a specified ratio to stevioside, so that the plant makes its own cultivation work easy, reduces cost, and allows cultivation from seeds. ;SOLUTION: This plant can grow leaves containing rabaudioside A at a ratio of 2.56 or more to stevioside. It is preferable to produce a sweetener containing rabaudioside A at a ratio of 2.56 or more to stevioside by subjecting dried leaves of the plant cultivated from the cultivating seed to extraction with water or a water-containing solvent and separating/collecting a sweetener ingredient from the obtained liquid extract.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
