CONVERSION OF SHIP FROM SINGLE HULL TO DOUBLE HULL, AND TECHNIQUE FOR RAISING HULL BOTTOM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve time efficiency required for reconstruction by providing the section of a second hull shell under a first hull of a ship, pulling up the section of the second hull shell, and approaching the section of the second hull shell to the first hull so as to fit it to the first hull. ;SOLUTION: The bottom part section, the side sections 18, and the end part sections 20 are assembled as a steel/iron construction. The bottom part section of the second hull 4 is provided with a female positioning member fitted corresponding to a male positioning member fitted to a ship 1. The ship 1 is moved from a land berth to the platform of the crane of the ship, and the ship 1 is brought down and floated. The crane of the ship is started so as to pull up the platform 14, and the male positioning member 6 fitted to a first hull 2 is correctly fitted into the female positioning member. Hereby, the work can be rapidly put forward, and a term during which the strip owner can not use the ship can be shortened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
