PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the fluctuation in tape tension and to reduce data error by using a cross-linked resin, reducing a width smaller than that of a recording tape, setting the width/thickness ratio to 30-45, and setting a coefficient of elasticity to 4-10kg/mm². ;SOLUTION: A drive belt 30 is obtained by a method for slicing a resin that is formed in tube shape, a method for forming by pushing out cylindrically, and a method for forming an annular ring from a resin sheet such as thermoplastic elastomer by punching and cutting, extending and twisting it by 3-6 times at a high temperature, and forming it in belt shape. The width/thickness ratio of the drive belt is preferably 30-45. When it is less than 30, the coefficient of elasticity with the belt increases, thus poorly affecting a tape. On the other hand, when it exceeds 45, it is not preferable in terms of the durability of the belt.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
