PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device to relieve the external pressure quickly and divide a bearing part of the big end of a connecting rod momentarily by the internal pressure and also provide an associate work holding jig by giving an outward oriented internal pressure to a bearing hole provided in the big end bearing part and suppressing its deformation through applying it an external pressure oriented inward. ;SOLUTION: An internal pressure giving device 23 is provided to give an outward oriented internal pressure to a bearing hole 5H of the bearing part of a connecting rod 1, and the bearing part is divided with the given internal pressure. In this method of dividing the bearing part, external pressure giving devices 25 and 27 are furnished to apply external pressure to the bearing part and thereby an external pressure is given to the bearing part and also internal pressure is given thereto by the device 23, and the external pressure is relieved momentarily when the internal pressure is at a level capable of dividing the bearing part, and the bearing part is divided momentarily by this internal pressure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
