PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft insertion control system equipped with a flow control valve, which gives ideal pressure characteristics of a weft-inserting fluid by connecting its inner valve to a solenoid coil movable in a solenoid to make it quickly responsive. ;SOLUTION: This weft insertion control system 100 inserts wefts Y sent from a weft storage means, located toward a loom and opposite to a warp inlet, injecting them with a pressure fluid P through a main nozzle N1, the wefts Y being also driven by the pressure fluid P ejected from two or more sub-nozzles N2 and N3 as the auxiliary weft-driving means, wherein the control system 100 is equipped with a pressure fluid source from which the pressure fluid P as the weft-inserting fluid is supplied to the main nozzle N1 and sub- nozzles N2 and N3, and also with a pressure or flow control valve between the nozzles, whose inner valve is driven by a movable solenoid coil. Thus, the quickly responsive pressure or flow control valve produces ideal pressure characteristics of the weft-inserting fluid P by a minimum flow rate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
