METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HOMONYM SELECTION OF JAPANESE SYLLABARY-CHINESE CHARACTER CONVERSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the homonym selection device for the KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI(Chinese character) conversion system which can efficiently select a desired KANJI idiom out of a conversion candidate group even when the number of KANJI idioms included in the conversion candidate group is large. SOLUTION: A KANJI idiom retrieval means 3 is equipped with a decision part 41, a conversion candidate limiting part 42, and a conversion candidate storage part 43; when the number of KANJI idioms included in the conversion candidate group is large, another reading of single KANJI included in a desired KANJI idiom is inputted as 2nd reading KANA information and the conversion candidate limiting part 42 narrows down the conversion candidate group stored in the conversion candidate storage part 42 according to the 2nd reading KANA information and limits it to a new conversion candidate group. Consequently, the desired KANJI idiom can be selected out of the new conversion candidate group which becomes less in number, so the efficiency of selection of a homonym in the KANA-KANJI conversion can be improved.
