PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an improved sensitivity even if the amount of physiological active substance to be immobilized is small and at the same time manufacture a chip by arranging an organic sulfur layer on a metal film being arranged on a transparent substrate. ;SOLUTION: A measurement chip has a transparent substrate 1, a metal film 2 being formed on the transparent substrate 1, and an organic sulfur layer 3 being formed on the metal film 2. Generally, a material that is made of one that is transparent to laser beams such as glass, polyethyleneterephthalate, and polycarbonate can be used as the transparent substrate 1 and is preferably one that does not show any anisotropy for polarization and has improved machinability. A metal that can be used for the metal film 2 includes, for example, gold, silver, copper, and aluminum. The organic sulfur layer 3 is connected to a metal atom in the metal film 2 via a sulfur atom, is a layer consisting of a substance with at least one organic functional group, and can be formed by using a compound with a mercapto group and other functional groups.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
