PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for associating a subject characteristic point which easily solves the correspondence problem of a characteristic point without needing a special device that measures view point movement nor special skill such as image processing and an object 3D reconstruction method using it. ;SOLUTION: In a method for associating subject characteristic points between 2D images when a subject is undergone 3D reconstruction through plural 2D images which are taken by continuously moving a view point, the view point is moved so that the distance between the view point and the subject may be larger than the distance between an initial coordinate and a coordinate after movement, and in this case, one optional point of characteristic points is positioned on the image origins of a 2D image of the initial coordinate and a 2D image of the coordinate after movement. The distance between a 2D position of the characteristic point of one optional point of each 2D image and the 2D image origin is introduced and the movement locus of the characteristic point of one optional point is made a coefficient only for a three-dimensional translational vector H. The movement of the characteristic point of one optional point is traced by using other 2D images, the movement locus in this case is contrasted with the movement locus, and the one that has the higher correlativity is selected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
