PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display characters or image information at any place of a wide optional image pattern by providing a re-writing type heat-sensitive recording medium wherein the coloring concentration is lower under an unbalanced state than under a balanced state, and a re-writing type heat-sensitive recording medium wherein the coloring concentration is higher under an unbalanced state than under a balanced state, on the same display region. ;SOLUTION: Both of a re-writing type heat-sensitive recording medium of three components, a coloring compound, a developer, a reversible agent, or four components by adding a phase separation control agent, wherein the coloring concentration is lower under an unbalanced state which is generated by melting and rapidly cooling a balanced state, than under the balanced state, and a re-writing type heat-sensitive recording medium comprising two components, a coloring compound and a long-chain developer, or three components by adding a phase separation control agent, wherein the coloring concentration is higher under an unbalanced state which is generated by melting and rapidly cooling a balanced state, than under the balanced state, are contained on the same display surface.
