DEVELOPMENT OF SCREENING APPARATUS FOR DRUG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a screening operation for the development of a new drug by a method wherein a buffer solution, a protein and a drug as samples are put into a test tube, they are placed under an electron microscope and their dissociation and their association are captured continuously by a video camera of high image quality. ;SOLUTION: When a dopamine decarboxylase activity inhibitor is developed, the three-dimensional structure of its enzyme is created by using a computer graphics 7. The inhibitor of an activity center is chemically synthesized, and the dissociation constant of the enzyme and the inhibitor is measured by using a computer 5. In addition, a photograph is taken on an imaging plate 6 by a camera 1 for giant molecules, and its positional relationship is confirmed. Then, an inhibition degree is detected by a radioimmunoassay(RIA), an actual pharmacologic effect is observed by a bioassay, and a drug effect test is performed by using a small animal.
