PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-oxidizing action agent, a xanthin oxidase inhibitory action agent and an aldose reductase inhibitory action agent having strong activity, comprising an extract of Bauhinia splendens as an active ingredient. ;SOLUTION: This anti-oxidizing agent comprises an extract of Bauhinia splendens, a plant of the genus Bauhinia of the family Leguminosae in an organic solvent or water as an active ingredient. For example, Bauhinia splendens is ground in a raw state as it is or dried and ground and extracted with an organic solvent such as methanol or water.
