PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for packing fresh sashimi (raw fish cut into very thin slices), capable of maintaining their quality for an extended period, especially for those with a high proportion of dark-colored flesh, and to obtain a package of fresh sashimi. SOLUTION: This package of fresh sashimi is composed of a tray 11, bag- shaped container 12 which wrap the tray 11, deoxidant 13 placed on the tray 11, and water-absorptive sheet 14, wherein fresh sashimi 2 is placed on the water-absorptive sheet 14 on the tray 11. The container 12 is made of an oxygen gas barring material, having an oxygen gas permeation of 1500 ml/m2 .day.atm or lower at 30 deg.C and 80% RH. It is sealed with nitrogen, which, coupled by use of the deoxidant 13, keeps a residual oxygen content at 0.003% or less inside.
