FONT TYPE FACE CONVERSION METHOD UTILIZING CENTRAL AXIS CONVERSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting and forming a shape from one basic shape relating to an outline font in such a manner that the size over the entire part meets an arbitrarily given boundary box while the important form of the shape taking the boldness or thickness of a stroke into consideration is maintained. SOLUTION: This type face conversion method converts a given character element to the arbitrary size. In such a case, the method includes a first stage for determining the central axis of the given character element, a second stage for determining a contact point by utilizing this central axis and the max. inscribed circle centering at the point on the central axis and a third stage for applying the point on the central axis and the information on this contact point at the time of character element conversion. The size over the entire part is converted in the shape so as to meet the arbitrarily given boundary box while the important form of the shape taking the boldness or thickness of the stroke into consideration is maintained at the time of resizing this character element to the boundary box where the fresh character element enters from the boundary box enclosing the given character element.
