PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the shape of the peripheral edge of each lens of eyeglasses after a mortar working for V-shape and a plane-working, by providing a measuring element which butts against the peripheral edge of the lens at least after the plane working. ;SOLUTION: Accorpanying the rotation of lens-rotating shafts 29, 30, a measuring element 18 moves up and down along the peripheral edge of an eyeglass lens ML, whereby a measuring arm 15 is moved up and down. In consequence, a magnescale 22 detects the up-down movement of the measuring element 18 and measuring arm 15, and inputs to an operation control circuit 8. The operation control circuit 8 obtains based on a measurement signal from the magnescale 22 a distance from an optical center of the eyeglass lens ML to the measuring element 18, namely, a radius vector ρi and stores the radius vector correspondingly to a rotational angle θi of the lens- rotating shafts 29, 30 as θi, ρi in a memory 44. The amount of a right-left movement of the measuring element 18, measuring arm 15 is detected by a magnescale 23 and stores in the same procedures as a lens shape information θi, ρi, Zi in the memory 44. After the shape is completely measured, the lens shape information is transferred and stored by the operation control circuit 8 to a judging device 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
