SOLUTION: The org. phase contg. the extracting agent in which the platinum is extracted and is expressed by the formula and the water phase of any of the dithionite, perchloric acid or perchlorate of a satd. concn. are brought into contact with each other to migrate the platinum into the water phase in the reverse extraction of the platinum. R1 , R2 in the formula are =6C alkyl group. In the case of palladium, the org. phase of the extracting agent in which the palladium is extracted and the water phase of the dithionite of the satd. concn. are brought into contact with each other to migrate the palladium into the water phase. The efficient reverse extraction of the platinum, etc., extracted in the extracting agent is made possible in such a manner and the subsequent recovery operation is facilitated.
