NOVEL COMPOSITE, ITS PREPARATION, AND CARBON MONOXIDE ADSORBING AGENT COMPOSED OF THE COMPOSITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a high carbon monoxide adsorption capacity and to be regenerated even when the capacity is deteriorated through the contact with oxygen- containing gas by erroneous operation by supporting a complex formed from pyridine or its derivative and copper halide on active carbon. SOLUTION: A composite is constituted by supporting a complex formed from pyridine or its derivative and copper halide on active carbon. The composite has a good carbon monoxide adsorption capacity, and a carbon monoxide adsorbing agent composed of the composite, by the adsorption of carbon monoxide on the adsorbent through the contact with mixed gas containing carbon monoxide, can separate carbon monoxide from the mixed gas. Even when the carbon monoxide adsorption/desorption capacity of the adsorbent is deteriorated by the contact with oxygen-containing gas such as air, the capacity which was lowered can be increased by treating it with a solution containing reducing gas or a reducing agent.
