PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anatase type fine particle titanium oxide excellent in photocatalytic activity and the producing method. ;SOLUTION: The high photocatalytically activated anatase type fine particle titanium oxide is constituted so as to incorporate phosphorus atom in a titanium oxide particle. The high photocatalytically activated anatase type fine particle titanium oxide is produced by mixing an aq. solution of a water soluble phosphorous compound such as phosphoric acid, sodium hexameta-phosphate, potassium pyro-phosphate with an aq. solution of a thermally hydrolyzable titanium compound such as titanyl sulfate, titanium chloride and after thermally hydrolyzing, neutralizing the resultant product and filtering, washing, drying and firing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
