PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a protecting coating agent for refractory material element in a mold for continuously casting a metal and the refractory material element protected with this coating agent. ;SOLUTION: In the protecting coating agent of the refractory material element in the mold for continuously casting the metal composed of dispersed liquid dispersing particles in solvent, particularly the steel, the particles are composed basically of boron nitride and at least one kind of metallic oxide among zirconia, alumina and silica and the boron nitride is contained at 20-50wt.% in the particles. The refractory material element (a pouring nozzle 7 and side walls 4, 4' for continuous casting between rolls) is coated with the protecting layer 13, 14, 14' obtd. by coating and drying.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
