RAT CD86, ITS GEME AND ITS ANTIBODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new rat CD86 which comprises a rat-originating polypeptide having a specific amino acid sequence, acts as one of cofactors for adhesion between T-cells and antigen-presenting cells and is useful in the study on inhibition of rejection symptoms in organ transplantation. SOLUTION: This new rat CD86 comprises a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of the formula, acts as one of cofactors for adhesion between T-cells and antigen-presenting cell, enables the investigation on CD86 playing important roles in immune response through animal experiments and provides the new immunosuppression and the inhibition of rejection symptoms in organ transplantation. This polypeptide is obtained by isolating mRNA from a rat cell strain, Lewise-S1 in usual manners, making cDNA library using the mRNA, screening the library with a probe of a cDNA fragment of mice CD86, incorporating the cDNA of rat CD86 into the vector and expressing the gene in the host cells.
