EMULATION FOR DELAY EXCEPTION ON DIGITAL COMPUTER WITH CORRESPONDING STRICT EXCEPTION MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new improved system and a method which facilitate the emulation of a delay exception mechanism by a processor which has a corresponding strict exception mechanism. SOLUTION: This digital computer system is equipped with a strict exception process processor and a control subsystem. The strict exception process processor performs processing operation under the control of instructions. If exception condition is detected as to some instruction, the strict exception process processor is structured according to a strict exception process model where the exception conditions are processed in relation with the instruction. The strict exception process processor further includes an unprocessed exception indicator which has an unprocessed exception display condition and an unprocessed process exception display state. The control subsystem supplies a series of instructions to the strict exception process processor so as to facilitate the emulation of at least one emulated program instruction.
