CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURE OF BOUNDARY BLOCK BETWEEN PEDESTRIAN WAY AND ROADWAY, INCORPORATING BASE OR APRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the construction structure of a boundary block between a pedestrian way and a roadway, which does not clack and peel off even though a vehicle runs thereon. ;SOLUTION: A construction structure is composed of boundary block 1 between a pedestrian way and a roadway, each incorporating apron, and laid on a base layer 4 along the road, and a joint member 3 set in a joint part 2 between the block 1. The joint part 2 is opened upward, and the joint member 3 is made of an elastic material. With this arrangement, even though a vehicle runs on the apron part 1b so that the blocks 1 are vibrated by variable load exerted from the vehicle, the vibration is attenuated since they are joined to each other through the joint member 3. Thus, no stress concentration occurs around the joint part 2 of the block 1. Even though the condition of contact between the blocks 1 and the base layer 4 is worse so that the blocks rattle with respect to the base layer 4, the rattling is similarly attenuated, thereby it is possible to prevent stress concentration around the joint part 2 between the blocks 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
