PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose reaction power including visual ability and judgement ability by providing plural push button switches incorporating display elements in a matrix shape on an operation plate and controlling the display elements by a display sequence for a diagnosis. SOLUTION: This diagnostic device 100 is provided with the plural push button switches 12 incorporating the display elements arranged in the matrix shape of vertical (n) pieces and horizontal (m) pieces on the operation plate 11 and a display control means for performing display by the display elements on the operation plate 11 with the display sequence for the diagnosis in this diagnostic method for indicating the display of which one of numerals or characters displayable by the display elements by which push button switch is to be performed. Based on the sequence of a reaction result obtained by having a testee standing in front of the operation plate 11 press the push button switch 12 with the display when the numeral or the character displayed on the operation plate 11 is the display to react and the display sequence determined to be reacted for the display sequence for the diagnosis, the visual ability and reaction power of the testee are judged.
