METHOD FOR DIVIDING PARALLEL DATABASE AND CONTROL SYSTEM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallel database dividing method and its control system where work with the division number change of a database is efficiently executed in a parallel data control system for dividing a database. SOLUTION: An access request to the databse is generated from a job program, the request is judged to be storage or retrieval at first, the control number of an external storage device for storing a record through the use of a hash function at the time of storage and the record is stored in the external storage device in accordance with the control number. At the time of retrieval, the whole divided external storage devices are retrieved in parallel without using the hash function.
