PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a train interval within a station yard by arranging train position detectors on a rail within the station yard so as to surround sections such as switches and platform trucks, in which the existence of a train is required to be confirmed for security and using exact train position detection information from these detectors. ;SOLUTION: A station has platforms H1 to H3 where a train passes or stops. Detectors D1 to D18 installed on the ground output binary signals of OCCUPY when a train exists on the detectors D1 to D18 and CLEAR when the train does not exist. Switches P1 to P4 input fixed position/reverse position control instructions, switch according to the control instructions and output switch state information on fixed position/reverse position. Each of the detectors D1 to D18 is installed in a shape surrounding switches P1 to P4 or platforms H1 to H3. For instance, the detectors D1 to D4, the detectors D8 to D12 and the detectors D13 to D14 surround the switch P1, switches P3 and P4 and the platform H1, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
