PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease chloride ion concn. in industrial water and to semipermanently circulate the water by utilizing microorganism to the industrial water contg. chloride ion. SOLUTION: Microorganism treatment is applied to industrial water to decrease chloride ion concn. in the industrial water used mainly for cooling water. This method for microorganism treatment is a trickling filter process or an aerobic microorganism treatment such as activated sludge treatment, and the trickling filter process whose management is easier is preferable from operational management view-point. In addition, the microorganism is pref. performed in a range of 5-50 deg.C and further pref., 15-35 deg.C. In addition, there exists no restriction on the range of treatable chlorine ion concn. but a range of 0.1-1,000mg/l is pref. and a range of 10-500mg/l is further pref.
