PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a coated stainless steel sheet having an excellent fused salt corrosion resistance by providing the stainless steel sheet contg. a specific ratio of Al with Al-Ni intermetallic compd. layers formed by the reaction of the Al diffused from a base material with Ni in a heat treatment after the coating with the Ni. ;SOLUTION: The stainless steel sheet contg. ≥0.5 wt.% Al is used as the base material and the Ni coating layers having a thickness of 0.1 to 20 μm are formed on the surfaces of the steel sheet. An austenitic system having excellent creep characteristics is used for the stainless steel and the Ni coating layers are preferably formed uniformly by plating, etc. The stainless steel sheet after the coating with the Ni is heat treated at about ≥450°C preferably in an atmosphere of an inert gas or reducing gas. The Al included in the stainless steel sheet is diffused and migrated and the Al-Ni intermetallic compds. are formed on the steel sheet surfaces by the heat treatment.
