PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the selection of inspection light detecting the presence or absence of and difference in contrast of a coated layer without the need for the containment of dye for optical inspection in the coated layer through the user of light as inspection light with a difference between the reflection rates of only a supporting body and a supporting body on which a coated layer is formed as inspection light. ;SOLUTION: In the case of measuring the spectral reflection spectrum on only the original paper 7 of a supporting body, its reflactance abruptly falls at a frequency of approximately 400nm or less and hardly changes at a frequency of approximately 400nm or higher. On the other hand, in the case of measuring the spectral reflection spectrum of the original paper 7 coated with an photosensitive emulsion to form an emulsion layer 6, its reflactance is low within the range of frequencies from 400 to 700nm and different within this range from the reflactance of only the original paper 7. By this, it is possible to select light as inspection light with wavelengths which is low in sensitivity in a spectral sensitivity spectrum and with a difference between the reflection rates of the original paper 7 and of the original paper 7 on which an emulsion layer 6. At this time, light with wavelengths sandwiched between both peaks of the maximum frequency side and minimum frequency side is preferable as inspection light.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
