DETAILED SECTION SELECTION METHOD FOR HIGHEST RESOLUTION IMAGE FOR PERFORMING OBSERVATION DURING SCANNING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select and observe the detailed section of a scanning image with highest resolution during scanning by performing display after high resolution image data equivalent to the detail section become utilizable during high resolution scanning. SOLUTION: During the high resolution scanning of the cut-off part of an image, the high resolution image data are stored in a disk by one line each. After a different detail window becomes utilizable during the high resolution scanning, the high resolution image data equivalent to the detailed section 44 are displayed there. In this case, the high resolution scanning of the cut-off part of the image starts from the peak part 48 of the image and advances downward to the bottom part 50 of the image. By the normal method of storing the high resolution image data in the disk, the high resolution scanning is continued until a scanning line 52 at the time is passed through to the end of the detailed section 44. Partially completed high resolution scanning is indicated by an arrow 54. At the time, the high resolution image data equivalent to the detailed section 44 are outputted from the disk and displayed inside the detail window.
