PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion composition which is lowly viscous even when it is highly concentrated, is easily pumpable and has excellent storage stability by reacting acrylamide with acrylonitrile, methacrylic acid (salt), an unsaturated carboxylic acid (salt) and an unsaturated sulfonic acid (salt) in a specified ratio in an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt. ;SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by reacting 10-70mol% acrylamide (a) with 28-70mol% acrylonitrile (b), 0.5-19.5mol% methacrylic acid and/or its salt (c1), an unsaturated carboxylic acid other than methacrylic acid and its salt and/or its salt (c2) [the total of c1 and c2 is 1-20mol%] and 0.1-5mol% unsaturated sulfonic acid and/or its salt (d) in an aqueous solution containing 1-10wt.% inorganic salt so that the polymer concentration may be 30-60wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
