PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply sufficient sorting operation to mown rushes or the like without lowering the quality of rushes or the like and further to prevent the sorted rush chips or the like from being scattered when turning the root side parts of mown rushes or the like into lying attitude while conveying these rushes or the like through a stalk top holding and conveying device. ;SOLUTION: Concerning a stalk harvester with which mown stalks are conveyed while being held and hung down by a stalk top holding and conveyer 10, a root holding and conveying device 18 is provided for conveying the mown stalks while holding their root end parts during this conveyance and for applying the sorting operation while turning the root side parts of these stalks into lying attitude.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
