SHAPING CIRCUIT AND SHAPING CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely set the shaping value between 0% and 100% and also to decide the optimum next transmittable time, according to the presence or absence of a transmission cell. ;SOLUTION: This shaping circuit/method performs the transmission of cells at the next transmittable time, based on the reference shaping value. The 1-cell time (n) is set at the optional value, and the reference shaping value is calculated by dividing the time (n) by the set shaping value. If the value obtained by carrying up the preceding next transmittable time stored in a memory 20 is larger than the reference timer value, the reference shaping value is added to the preceding next transmittable time. If the said carried-up value is smaller than the reference timer value, the reference shaping value is added to the reference timer value to decide the next transmittable time. For these purposes, the next transmittable time decision parts 15 to 19 are prepared. Furthermore, a fluctuation control part manages the fluctuation of cells and specifies the next transmittable time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
