The neurostimulator has a resonant circuit with a pulse condenser (C) and a wave shaped stimulation coil (Lsp) for producing a magnetic field. A charging circuit (10) is provided for charging the condenser. A controllable switch (S) e.g. thyristor, interrupts and closes the resonant circuit, where the switch is opened and closed by a control circuit (11). Wave shape of the coil is detected by the control circuit and the switch is opened during correlation of the wave shape with a criterion, which is preset by the control circuit.
